San Antonio has a warm, growing tattoo scene, from the walk-in shops of the River Walk and Southtown to the custom studios of the Pearl District, Alamo Heights and the Stone Oak area. Artists here do everything from bold traditional and black-and-grey realism to fine line, blackwork and large-scale illustrative pieces, and many shops keep a steady flow of regulars alongside visitors drawn in by the city's history, food and arts scenes.
